I began by brainstorming the topic at hand and looking into the details and specifics of the look book, i.e. format, which would help shape the design and direct the layout and grid.
Below shows the notes made and initial sketches regarding design and layout also. I played with cover ideas also, as well as layout designs, to gain a full understanding of how the brand image and collection would be portrayed through the aesthetics and design.
I am keen to split the look book into two halves for the the different aesthetics used throughout the collection. Above shows name ideas for these dividing pages as well as ideas for the layout and use of grid.
Below shows a range of different cover ideas. For the previous Jade Clark look books which I have designed and produced, vinyl was used, remaining synonymous for her signature material used with her clothing/line/collection. This is something I would like to bring into this brief also. All of the type, illustration and detail shown on the ideas below would be vinyl based.
Format: A5, Portrait, 148 x 210 mm.
Use of a consistent grid holding various, repeated layouts throughout the look book.
