LIFESTYLE & CULTURE SUPPLEMENT 1 - PHOTOGRAPHY & LAYOUT DEVELOPMENT

Photography:

Below shows a series of photographs taken by myself on my recent trip to Marbella. They have been edited slightly using Adobe Lightroom, a new piece of software I have been picking skills up with recently. I wanted the colours to 'pop' and stand out without using grey scale, sepia or other duotone layers.

The images are shown below. The only photographs that are not mine are of the Street Style images - these have been noted.

The images have been selected relevant to the article/contents previously noted.

Further Layout Development:

Following the development of the underlying grid structure for the supplement, I began working on the cover, using the central image and margins as a guide. Lekton and Perla are the typefaces which has been used for the body copy and headline on the cover page shown below. A variety of type setting has been used to allow for the information to be placed in a structured and visually appealing way, yet allowing for easy reading.

Again, following the grid structure laid out, and following the initial sketches drawn, a full layout for the magazine was created consistently yet using different double page spreads as and when appropriate, as well as additional details such as specific placement of numbers, titles, headers, images and overlays.
