My client Emilie had also asked about an invitation for the stores opening night. I thought this would be a really nice addition to the branding, whilst being a personal touch, so was happy to take this on. She wanted something quirky and fun.

I was given the following body copy to work with:

You are invited to a store opening!
Friday 24th April, 7.30pm.
RSVP by April 1st!

I wanted to provide a selection of designs for my client to choose from, allowing different layouts, illustration and type hierarchies to be used. In addition to this, Emilie has a very strong visual eye and knows what she likes/dislikes.

The format chosen for the invites is A6, portrait, allowing for easy keeping in a purse/handbag, as well as being able to produce multiples from 1 sheet of paper reducing costs for the additional element. Furthermore, there is not enough content to fill an A5/A4 format invite.

The following 6 designs were presented for the front/back of the invite:

The front and back which Emilie decided on are:

Emilie chose these as she felt the type sat best on the front with the central illustration, to which I agreed, as well as liking the touch of the leaves as a breaker, keeping in line with the logo and brand image.

I am really happy with the 2 she has chosen.

I have decided to work 'You are invited to a' into the invite holder/envelope to entice the end user, as well as being a bit more personal, interactive and quirky.
